GROWING ON LESS THAN 1 ACRE

CERTIFIED REAL ORGANIC

VEGETABLES,

SALAD MIXES,

EDIBLE FLOWERS,

CULINARY & MEDICINAL HERBS

WE LOVE THE SOIL! AND SO DO OUR PLANTS!

Our veggies, flowers, and herbs are started from certified organic seed on our farm, and are grown on our farm using beyond organic practices. We strive to grow a wide variety of different vegetables, flowers, and herbs throughout the seasons. In the main summer growing season we typically offer: tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, zucchini, beets, radishes, broccoli, arugula, lettuce mix, carrots, cabbage, sugar snap peas, kale, Swiss chard, bunching onions, fennel, new potatoes, onions, peppers, culinary herbs, radish, broccoli, and Tokyo bekana(Asian cabbage) microgreens, pea shoots, and more!

In the winter, due to the colder temps and the less sunlight, we typically offer: lettuce, arugula, spinach, kale, Swiss chard, carrots, pea shoots, and radish, broccoli, and Tokyo bekana(Asian cabbage) microgreens! Plus storage crops like potatoes, carrots, watermelon radishes and garlic while supplies last.

We are Certified Organic by Pennsylvania Certified Organic(PCO) to comply with USDA organic standards.

However, we feel that because the USDA in recent years has allowed hydroponic growers to become certified organic even though their crops are not grown in soil like the National Organic Standards require, we want to distinguish our Certified Organic crops, that are actually grown in soil, from the hydroponic growers.

THE REAL ORGANIC PROJECT certifies that our crops are grown in soil.

THE REAL ORGANIC PROJECT is a grassroots coalition led by farmers and advocates to distinguish soil grown crops and pasture raised livestock form hydroponic crops and confinement animal feeding lots.

Love carrots

We utilize minimal tillage practices (only tilling the ground when we initially establish a permanent raised bed) to maintain soil structure and micro-ecology. We incorporate permaculture practices, such as companion planting, raised bed layouts, crop specific rotations, and plantings to attract pollinator & beneficial insect species.
